Speakers: Yvan Vandenplas

Presented at European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition...

Summary

Human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) are the third most important component of breast milk, after lactose and lipids, and are composed of a very complex mixture of more than 200 components and are the non-digestible and non-nutritional carbohydrates present in human milk. Yvan Vandenplas shows in his presentation the available evidence about HMO and growth in healthy infants and in infants with cow’s milk protein allergy (CMPA). He also presents new data on 2 HMOs (LNnT and 2’FL) in infants with CMPA.
